Granite Mountain Stables

Ever since Prescott was founded by the Walker party in 1864, Granite Mountain has been a special place for residents and visitors alike. Our trails take us past Indian ruins, old corrals, and spectacular views of the Mountain and the Williamson Valley. We ride in the designated Wilderness in search of the elusive animals that inhabit this craggy, granite remnant of pre-historic volcanoes and glaciers. Listen for the screech of the Hawk or Eagle that call this place home. The deer, antelope, coyote, javelina, and others play an elusive game of hide and seek with us humans as we enter their territory.

These are the trails of the animal, cattle, and ranchers, some of whom still roam these hills in the naturally beautiful “Rock Country” of Arizona. These are the trails we rise with pride and care. These are the trails we use for our guided horseback rides, year round in Arizona’s high desert country.
